Mapblogging with Wikimapia
Here's something I accidently found while ambling around the net a few months ago. I just thought it'd be of better use for some of us bloggers esp. travelbloggers out there.
Well, it's called Wikimapia (http://wikimapia.org). It is, and I quote, "a Web 2.0 project to describe the whole planet Earth. It was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev, inspired by Google maps and Wikipedia."
Cool thing about it is that it allows users to put labels and decriptions over specific places in the map. And since it has been around for a while now, today it has a lot of to tell you around. Another nice hitch is allowing you to grab a dynamic map to be embedded in your web pages or blog site like the ones I have up there. Yeah, it's dynamic in a sense that you can actually drag the map here and about to show your favorite spot anywhere in the world. And of course, there's zooming in and out handy if you need it. Go ahead, try it!
